Jade is the awesome lead vocalist of Frozen Crown.
She’s a powerhouse singer who needs zen before going wild on stage.
She’s also someone who escaped heartburn hell by changing her entire diet and discovered that performances aren’t enough exercise.
Behind the biceps she loves showing off, Jade switched from running to the gym to avoid weather excuses, and learned that milk is hiding in way more places than you think.
In this Gym Rock Crew Interview, Jade breaks down her favorite exercise, how she manages strict dietary restrictions on tour, the secret to crossing the motivation line, and her perfect workout partner.
Shoulder presses and biceps
Jade’s favorite exercise is slow weight lifting with dumbbells – shoulder presses.
She loves lifting the microphone on stage and seeing her biceps.
They’re getting better next summer because she’s increasing weight lifting.
She also shares her least favorite exercise in this interview.
Jade talks about switching from running outside (avoiding laziness when it rains and it’s cold) to going to the gym at least three times a week with proper weightlifting… they key to fixing her back!
Cardio is crucial for breath
The most important thing for touring is cardio.
Not because of the length of the show, but the intensity and power of songs.
The most delicate moment? The first three songs. After that you can just go.
Jade noticed in times when she wasn’t cardio trained enough, she went into tiredness and breath difficulty.
She talks about doing free body exercises backstage even if she doesn’t have gym access and why performances aren’t enough to stay fit.
The milk problem
Jade can’t eat things with milk because her belly aches badly.
This does present problems as she is Italian, which means… pizza is off limits!
Before singing, she doesn’t want to eat because her stomach doesn’t work well with her diaphragm.
She shares her post-show diet and talks about body changes post-tour.
Jade says avoiding lactose is not enough for her body, the heartburn that plagued her until a doctor switched up her diet moving around protein and carbohydrates.
Zen before the storm
Jade needs to be calm and focused before going on stage.
Energy comes from the inside – she doesn’t need external hype.
She goes through her routine step by step in the interview.
If she has something stressful (even if it’s positive), it’s not her perfect mindset.
She shares her neck stretching and sleep routine on tour.
Forgive yourself and cross the line
When asked what she’d tell someone struggling to take care of themselves while chasing dreams:
Forgive yourself.
Everyone has down moments. Everyone eats the whole chocolate bar or kilo of biscuits.
If you’re too strict, you fall easily. Have your cheat day. You’re not a failure because you failed once a week or once every two weeks.
The first months of working out are a nightmare. Some people are born with motivation, some have to make efforts.
But when you cross the line, you cannot live without it.
Just endure and cross that line.
This was a great conversation with Jade
We talk about AI creating fake songs that sound real, why 3D holograms might be the scary next step, gin tonics before shows, and how Federico supports her when she tries to avoid chocolate.
Jade talks about how getting older means that you can’t be a superhero anymore, why strength training saved her back, and the importance of recognizing when people around you are just complaining for the sake of complaining.
