Dr.Elle aka The Metal Chiro Fitness Interview | Keeping bands performing Pain Free

Dr. Elle The metal chiro fitness interview

Behind every high energy metal show is a body taking a beating.

Dr. Elle, better known as The Metal Chiro, works with some of the biggest bands in the world, keeping artists and crew healthy through brutal tour schedules, injuries, and backstage chaos.

In this Gym Rock Crew interview, she breaks down how strength training, movement, and recovery keep musicians performing at a high level for years, not just one tour.

I had no idea how I was going to do it. I just knew I would.

Dr. Elle didn’t take the traditional straight line into chiropractic.

She came back to school later, with real life experience behind her.

That experience changed how she approached learning, discipline, and respect for the process.

Being older meant better time management, better recovery habits, and a deeper appreciation for the opportunity.

In this interview she takes us through all the life experiences that led her to becoming a chiropractor in the metal scene.

Bands don’t need another provider. They need someone who understands touring.

Touring isn’t predictable and schedules change daily.
Load ins, sound checks, and show times clash.

Dr. Elle’s backstage clinics adapt to chaos.

Some days it’s a full setup with multiple tables and machines.
Other days it’s a portable table, a massage gun, cups, and hands.

Her rule is simple: Help the artist without adding stress.

Communication with tour managers, flexible scheduling, and respecting artist preferences is what keeps it working.

“Artists are athletes. They just don’t wear jerseys.”

Most musicians don’t think of themselves this way but they should.

Repetitive movements, high intensity performances and minimal recovery time.

Drummers, guitarists, vocalists, and crew all break down in different ways.

Dr. Elle shares her experience on which musicians need the most ‘fixing’.

Some issues include overuse injuries, upper trap tension, wrist inflammation, whiplash and more.

If you play metal and don’t stretch, we need to talk

Dr.Elle talks about how Stretching is non negotiable.

She demonstrates some simple stretches that can be done, backstage, on the tour bus or before walking on stage.

She encourages musicians and crew to work on their mobility instead of pushing through pain.

In this interview she also shares one of the easiest performance upgrades artists ignore.

Metal is changing. Longevity is winning.

We covered the impact of drugs and alcohol in the metal scene and the lives we’ve lost as a result.

She spoke about spreading awareness and making a massive impact to keep artists performing better & longer.

She also spoke about the one habit every musician should avoid doing immediately.
